Ju Ju Dust

This record is a couple of months old so apologies if I'm crazy late on this but its been sat in my I Tunes for a little while and I hadn't had a chance to listen to it. It finally came up on shuffle so I had a listen and I had to bring it up for a Halloween spin or two...

JME - Juju Riddim

Don't say he is serious...

Theophilus London ft. Jesse Boykins - Higher

After hearing his version of Solanges Sandcastles i knew id want to hear more from possibly the longest name in rap Theophilus London. But what are your thoughts on Higher?

There's another DOG MAN!

A few months ago, I randomly spotted a man walking down Portobello Road with a dog balancing on his shoulder. As you do. (If you didn't catch Dog Man No.1 the first time round on ATCN check him out here.) Now there is ANOTHER Dog Man on the streets of London town. I don't get it? Is this the 2008 definition of Grandad swagger? Whatever it represents it keeps me entertained.

Have you seen any 'Dog Men' walking the streets?

ATCN in Paris

A long needed break came over the last few days in the form of Paris.
Obviously the sites needed to be seen...

I found this odd blue tower...

and stumbled across scaffolding that randomly had cues of people going to see some bird called Mona who lives there or summin? Anyway, being pointed in the direction of dope hotels and unbelievable places to eat by ATCN family Fats, also led me to the best guides to the city....

Fashion, Art and music could be part of a long winded description of who they are but i figure a clip of the crew shutting down the street outside their Pigalle store says it better than i could.

Shouts to Hami

And Raf

for being my guides and without doubt confirming my thoughts that the ATCN state of mind exists outside the U.K.

When in Paris you need to hit the Pigalle store and see one of the dopest line up of brands ever from Swagger to Marc Jacobs. Also if there is an exhibition in the former red light district of Pigalle there is a good chance the POK crew are responsible. As a group of creatives PainOchoKolat not only run a store and throw parties, the boys run a consultancy company and have an office that doubles as a gallery space...

For more on the Pigalle store check out this short film Here
Props to the POK crew and Paris, we shall meet again!

GOOD are absolutely smashing it with their, 'If I Were President' series of videos. Mos Def is leading my pack of wanna be commander in chiefs. For the rest of the series featuring Murs and Wyclef, check out GOOD right HERE.

video / series highlight.... best idea.... killer one liners.

Blur vs. Oasis

I have had this argument with many a man(and woman), basically because most people fight the corner of Oasis! Just look at it this way Damon Albarn is a genius, the term may be used loosely sometimes, but he really is. From classic brit-pop singles and albums with Blur, to alternative, indie, hip-hop, rock, funk tracks with Gorillaz, delivering many seminal albums in whatever he does. Not to mention producing musicals and various bits of solo work.

Where as Liam Gallagher is over hyped, and a bit of a waste of space. Noel has talent and is a brilliant song writer, and 'Whats the Story' is a classic album. But they are just churning out watered down Oasis circa-1996 these days!

So the question remains!

Tinchy - Rollin' ft. Roache

Tinchy has done very well with his new street release, if this track featuring Roache doesn't wet your lips for the album nothing will! I like the track quite a bit, and the video is one of the best grime video's in a while!

Enough of my opinions, we are all a bit sick of them. What do you think?

Imagine. BBC x JAY Z

Jay - Z occupied a full hour of BBC one time last night. Did you tune in? Are you disappointed or pleased with this beeb offering? Alan Yentob, the old dude with grey hair, was granted exclusive access to Jay and his family over a 6 month period. The results are worthwhile viewing in places for anyone interested in this iconic figure.

To catch up and watch in full hit the BBC iPlayer.
'Imagine: Jay - Z: He Came, He Saw, He Conquered', right HERE.
Not yet available to viewers outside of the UK... hold tight for the youtube offering.

Quick Look - ALL CAPS

ALL CAPS is a new start up label from London. Above is a small selection from their new Indian Summer lookbook.

ALL CAPS - are you feeling it? Does this collection SINK or SWIM?

thecocknbullkid x Jools Holland

Whilst I was away in NYC, thecocknbullkid was bussin' it up live on Jools Holland. If you missed it - check out the video above! View the other track that Miss Blay performed here.

Ps. I love the dress Anita.

Jay got a song with Coldplay

Mick Boogie's & Terry Urban's new mash up mixtape titled Viva La Hova

With Jigga rhyming and Coldplay providing the musical backdrop for this mashup, this ish has made my week!

Chelsea lately "loves black men"

"I said some things I didn't of oughta..."

"....like I had sex with your granddaughter..."

10,000 complaints and a public telling off from the PM later...

Did they take it too far?

The 3 M's

Martin Luther King Jr

"Hatred paralyzes life; love releases it. Hatred confuses life; love harmonizes it. Hatred darkens life; love illuminates it."

"Almost always, the creative dedicated minority has made the world better."

"I look to a day when people will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character. "

Malcolm X

"We declare our right on this earth...to be a human being, to be respected as a human being, to be given the rights of a human being in this society, on this earth, in this day, which we intend to bring into existence by any means necessary."

“If you don't stand for something you will fall for anything.”

“If you have no critics you'll likely have no success.”

Muhammad Ali

“I am the greatest, I said that even before I knew I was.”

“If you even dream of beating me you'd better wake up and apologize.”

“When you are as great as I am it is hard to be humble.”

"I'm so fast that last night I turned off the light switch in my hotel room and was in bed before the room was dark."

Just Say No

If everyone in London is on coke (not sure I'm co-signing that one, Lily) then New Yorkers are apparently one step ahead of us, with Crystal Meth fast replacing cocaine as the Class A of choice. In an attempt to curb the use of 'Hillybilly Heroin', The Partnership for a Drug-Free America has issued these Before and After shots of Meth abusers.

Like the pictures you see of tobacco-ravaged lungs on American cigarette packets, but scarier.

Don't do drugs, kids.

'Faces of Meth'

Its been two years since Lily's debut and the short lived love affair the public held for her. 'Everyone's At It' is the first finished track to emerge from second album offerings. An easy target to lampoon and parody, does she manage to deliver with this slightly jarring effort?

"So you've got a prescription, and that makes it legal. I find those excuses overwhelmingly feeble…The kids are in danger, they're all getting hurt. From what I can see, everyone's at it."

I apologies for even quoting those lyrics. Are we all at it? Are we? Specks isn't.

'Everyone's At It' does it SINK or SWIM?

The only thing scarier than the prospect of McCain as US President? Sarah Palin as his VP.

Asked in August about the prospect of becoming a vice-presidential nominee

It kind of cracks me up. It is so far out of the realm of reality (2008)

On her favourite food
Moose stew, after a day of snow-machinin' (2006)

On what got her into politics
I'm one of those people, y'know, I see a soldier walk through the airport and, y'know, my heart does a little double-take (2008)

On Barack Obama
Al-Qaeda terrorists still plan to inflict catastrophic harm on America and he's worried someone won't read 'em their rights (2008)

On John McCain
He's the kind of fellow whose name you will find on war memorials in small towns across this great country. Only he was among those who came home (2008)

Speaking at her old church, the Wasilla Assembly of God
I can do my part in doin' things, like workin' really really hard to get a natural gas pipeline (2007)

On her son, Track
When he turned 18, right before he enlisted, he had to get his first tattoo. And I'm like, 'Nah, I don't think that's real cool, son' until he showed me what it was and I thought, 'Oh he did something right', because he had a big ol' Jesus fish. So OK (2008)

When asked: 'what if Israel attacked Iran?'
We shouldn't second guess Israel's security efforts because we cannot ever afford to send a message that we would allow a second Holocaust, for one (2008)

On how Alaska's proximity to Russia gave her foreign policy experience
That Alaska has a very narrow maritime border between a foreign country, Russia, and, on our other side, the land-boundary that we have with Canada (2008)

Asked if she regularly got up early
Yup. We don't sleep much. Too much to do. What I've had to do, though, is in the middle of the night, put down the Blackberries and pick up the breast pump (2008)

On Alaska
We want to see Ivana Trump because we are so desperate in Alaska for any semblance of glamour and culture (1996)

On the American forces
They are building schools for the Afghan children, so there is hope in our neighbouring country of Afghanistan (2008)

Asked if she was ready to be a mere heartbeat away from the presidency
Absolutely. Yup yup (2008)

From The Observer

Wassup 08

Blogger seems to have randomnly deleted my post from earlier today so lets have another go:

Shout to the DZL on this one, here is a reversion of the 'classic' beer advert from 8 years ago with the annoying catchphrases.

It's got some really nice touches to and seems to hit a lot of relevant points in a clever way. Have a watch - just don't start saying Wassup...

One thing I notice...is sometimes you leave a roll of film in a camera for ages...

Camera: Lomo LA+ with 20mm wide angle attachment
Film: Kodak 160VC developed at 200asa

Be Well.
