not saying its a bad thing, jay z is arguably the best that ever picked up a mic but still kano's good enough he dosnt need to be riding another man's piece.
"riding another man's piece" This is coming from the person that Rides Jay's dick in their profile using an altered quote from Mr Carter?! Fuck outta here!!
Dope song, Dope video (pun intended) The young man is making us proud.
Its shot real nicely but he could of come with a better theme, it is a bait American Gangster feel, something a little more London centric would have been nice.
4get this who's jocking who bullshit .. We all know about the track but i have to say that this video is ridiculously big .. inspiring even .. some of the camera shots are genius and if this is whats to come from kano as an independent artist then the future looks bright!
Firstly i was not riding Jay, i was just paying homage. Jay Z is my favourite Mc almost every bar of his is a quotable henceforth my profile consisting of 'an altered quote' .
Secondly you need to read my comments a tad more thoroughly before attacking me like an ignorant egg. I stated 'yeah i agree both the video and songs impressive. Kano just seems to keep getting better.'
evidently one would assume i was a fan of Kano's work.
What I'm about to convey might seem like I'm contradicting my self but i don't give a fly's fuck!!
Still i am entitled to point something out if i feel a patterns emerging...
Kano has stated numerously on different occasions in the past; Jay-Z is his biggest influence, he loves everything Jay-Z stands for, Jay-Z has the best flow, Big pimping is his favourite song ever! the list goes on... so no i wont retract what i said i stand by it
'kano's good enough he doesn't need to be riding another man's piece.'
let me emphasise i DIDNT say kano is riding Jay-Z's piece.
now relax, go eat some humble pie and here is an English Proverb to take into account.
and shar shar there is seriously no point in even responding to illmatic. that was like an old school bout of mortal kombat and illmatic just "FINISHED HIM!"
the new street fighter is out soon aswell frigging awesome gonna kick me some ass with chun-lee :D
Leave the bitch alone already. It's good to see a grime artist even creating a video like this instead of the idealistic green screened bullshit that graces channel U on a daily basis. Obviously it's heavily influenced by american gangster but nothing is TRULY 100 % original anymore, most things have their own spin of something previously created. Saying that, I look forward to seeing the repercussions of music videos after this. You just set the bar high here kano.
You don't have to be on road to be a hustler, and judging by the ignorance your spouting you should spend a little less time on road and find a legit grown man hustle...
back on topic
i love kano, i like the song, i love the debate the video set off that's what a good video should do.
1. Jay Z's Album was titled American Gangsta, and the artwork was a direct pastiche of the visuals in the film, even though he wasnt on the soundtrack.
2. All artists borrow/pay hommage to etc... Its only wack when they base too much on someone elses body of work.
Enough with the numbers ish...
I like the song, but it doesnt blow me away, I think he is trying to juggle being seen as credible/real with the 'On Road' fam, whilst competing on a level with big label artists he admires.
In short it is an excellent attempt to do a lot, with a little. We need more people like Kano, and less of what we usually see on Channel U.
I think that a lot of people are missing the point and the concept behind the lyrics... if you listen to what he's actually talking about then you will see that the video is very fitting!
Just earlier I hear people talking about real niggas. When you go throught some real shit in your life like get stabbed or shot or watch someone die n your "endz" then you have had the real experience. So niggas need to stop with this homolovin hip hop where niggas love a hard image of a supposed "gangsta" image and get back to there real lives most of you pricks just go to college or angabout on myspace to get a record deal or have your song on television and radio as a black man is a great level of success being black doesnt hold you back. But really pricks stop with the fucking real nigga shit and gangster bullshit the real gangsters are in jail and they will tell you it aint "real" the hardest man is always the most fearful.......
'Tis a good video (and song) to be sure but I still think So Solid's "Ride Wid Us" and "They Don't Know" set a standard for black music videos in this country that has yet to be beaten.
Admittedly though the budgets for both of those completely dwarf Kano's!

So who wants to be jay-z then?
Thats my fucking anthem. Siiick.
The video is pretty sick. Support Kano man, he isnt signed anymore, if you like it, buy it.

american gangster scene rip-offs anybody?
Big video, not very TV friendly though.
Theres tits in it happy days I say
yeah i agree both the video and songs impressive. Kano just seems to keep geting better.
But i also agree with anon he is really jocking Jay Z's swagger its evident the whole video was inspired but American gangster.
The whole of the budget was soo spent on the naked models. Im not complaining though.
Who wouldn't want to be Jay z ? Millions in the bank and banging the back out of beyonce....
not saying its a bad thing,

LOL @ the biggest pussy in London wanting to be a hustler.
Real niggas don't watch another nigga slap their moms in the face and not do shit.
Real niggas don't get drunk in the club and ride piggyback on their boy acting a damn fool.
Real niggas don't get shook when their out in public and try to hide behind shades.
Real niggas don't let other niggas punk them in front of their whole squad and the said squad stand around like pussies.
No, Kano. You're def not a hustler...Studio hustler and fantasist, yes.
Leave road biz to road niggas.
Its shot real nicely but he could of come with a better theme, it is a bait American Gangster feel, something a little more London centric would have been nice.

I Second that ^^^^^
Shouts out to pop lock and drop!
*cue round of applause*
To those of you who have pointed out the 'American Ganster' influence...YOU'RE QUICK!
How many US artists have ripped scenes/ influenced by the old ganster films? Scarface??!
This video is sick! The track is sicker! Kano continues to make moves with record deal or without, he = BIG IN THE GAME!
Forum haters - Jealousy is not attractive! Member I told you!
p.s at 'anon' chatting s**t about Kano...
For someone who don't like him, you've spent alot of time watching his movements.

maybe this video was American Gangster inspired? but thats nothing to do with Jay-Z? mr. carter didnt direct it, it wasnt his vision.
girls baggin up food naked was to stop them from stealing! thats how real street niggas used to bag up food you dumb fucks.

Mr W, where art thou?
after that immense Lauryn Hill post, seems you've disappeared off the face of the planet.
looks like no one is taking into account your no use of the n word rule on ATCN...
Kano is a hustler
He manufactures and distributes his very own product so i personally think that this should be celebrated
production behind the video is also very tidy!
Big Video and Big Tune...
The "music game is like the drugs game" anology is obviously very played out... but that doesn't really affect me enjoying it.
Big up Kano.
nakedness, siick!
i love how lil naked boi always manages to dissolve a situation with his naked ways
