Life Imitating Art

Scientific advances get more miraculous by the day, but this story from Wednesday's Telegraph is the craziest development I've read about in a while:

"Neurobiologists believe they will soon be able to target and then chemically remove painful memories and phobias from the mind without causing any harm to the brain."

Would you do it?

no, no, no, and no! I agree with clav. And, frankly, there is nothing in my life that I want to forget, seems like a great way to do some stupid shit that got me in a bind in the past, again (if you don't remember an event, then you don't remember the outcome, or if you did, it would have no context)

yeah, but you lot haven't been raped by your dad or anything. just saying, there's things in life that might be better forgotten.

@anon - true I not been raped by my dad but I think you underestimate the human minds (and body, in fact) ability to deal with trauma.
