It's Pouring...

After such a dreary weather day I realised two things:

1 - Summer is well and truly over.
2 - Summer never really even arrived.

I'm concluding that it's time to settle in with a hot drink and a packet of rich tea biscuits. Now tea might be the leading English choice, but I don't like to place limits on hot liquid consumption...

Somebody out there likes BOVRIL, don't even lie, and I'm just suggesting that whatever you like it can be made that bit better in this 'Terrorist Tea Pot'. Available at SUCK UK, check it here.

It's raining outside, so get your friends round, the kettle on, and a nice cup of [insert here]...

In my book, hot ribena is the ONE.

Terrorist Tea Pot... basically, a tea pot with eyes and a wooly balaclava.

SINK or SWIM?

Readers divulge your tea rituals. Fellow triber Shenanigan is a 4 sugars kind of girl, I fib not!

four sugars!!!

Mmm...

Possible. The sugar is just fuel for my energy. Also I is a homie lover friend of baking (as u know) it's in me blood

Hot ribena. That one never sat well with me although I appreciate it's possible benefits. Also I'm sure hot ribena prob has 9 sugars in it...which makes my four look like a green leaf tea!

i love the teapot, but as I was stopped as a child while going through the border in Ireland and made to stand against the back door while the local garda (feds) held a gun not to far from my head, the connotations of IRA-ness may just tip me back to the dark side.

Beverage: tea, sometimes rooibus, no sugar, builder-strength.
or a latte made with rice milk with an extra shot of espresso and two brown sugars, or on special occassions, almond syrup.
hot ribena is pure unabashed nostalgia in a cup, though i like it best in a glass mug.
so basically only ask me if i wan't a drink if you are not in a hurry.

baking choice of accompaniment: bakewell tart, scones, cream and jam, tarte au citron, or strawberry and white chocolate muffins.

ps. Bovril? really? but it is like manure?

swim all day.

Ribena probably does have 9 sugars in it, but it feels so good dammit. probably the same reason i like cola redbull, ummm.

the true love is peppermint tea though, does not get more gangsta than that.

on that note, tribers, tea party this week???

i just go for plain hot water, nothing to dress it up - like me.

i grow fresh mint in the yard... obviously i have a penchant for fresh, but i am by no means opposed to bagged. It does the job.

and yes bovril is a bit like marmite... its alright to be fair.

lil naked boi one plain hot water on me.

if you really like your tea, i highly recommend a trip to Mo's tearoom
http://www.momoresto.com/momo.html
mint tea with orange blossom or maybe rosewater and they aren't too shy to refill either.
