I don't think it's as clear cut as everyone thinks, I saw an item on TV last week where a poll in America had found that the majority of white people would still vote McCain ahead of Obama. In my opinion it would be a nightmare to have McCain in Office, this man's policies are worse than Bush's, he's an old man so he would only be able to manage one term anyway (that would be one too many) and this change that people crave for would not happen.
To me in a lot of ways what Obama stands for and says he is going to do (hope he walks the walk as well as talks it) has been lost a little by his status as a figure of pop culture, does everyone believe in or even know what he stands for or do they think it's cool to walk around in a t-shirt with his face on. A the end of the day does it matter as long as these people go along and vote and he gets in, because like I've said before I truley believe that he is the one man who will stand up and at least try and make changes because as we know things are becoming increasingly worse and know one seems to want to do anything about it. The guy who runs America has a knock on affect to the rest of the world and let's hope to god it's Barack Obama and let's hope he's carries out the things he says he's going to do!!
They're both have their weaknesses, so you cant just say Obama is the better candidate not knowing his policies.. and because America's elections is always a two party race it doesn't help. If Americans had more choice then maybe each candidate would be more true to his/her beliefs and stand up for them. Whereas now they have to watch what they say just in case they scare voters away etc. Also even if McCain's policies arent too great.. Obama hardly spells his out. He keeps using the fact that GW Bush is a Republican and so McCain must be the same.
Anyway I don't support one or the other because McCain has openly stated that he'd like to bomb Iran, even after what has happened in Iraq. And Obama also said that he supports the fact that jerusalem should be solely in the hands of Israel, even after all this time they've been working on plans to share the holy ca.pital
all really vaid points, guess we will just have to wait until the debate starts. But you guys gotta admit that Obamas speach was the shit, really good public speaker.
In terms of wearing a t-shirt to support a candidate I dont see how it makes a difference, but if people feel that wearing one will help then so be it.
Change is due, but sadly as a friend of mine from Phili said, the one thing he is worrie about is the black vote...will they come out this time & help make that difference...otherwise I see a very tight battle & would hate to see even more right wing politics & foreign policy coming from a more crazed Globocop if McCain wins...a sad day it would be indeed. Hope & Change are good things to desire in this day & age...
dont worri bout the black vote i know a few ppl down there who are only voting because hes black bit of a lame reason to vote but every vote counts init besides hes got bare different races backing him aswell but we'll see on Nov 4
^^^ kanye... lost for words?!! i think i just saw a pig fly!^^^
also mccains running partner has caused scandal already with her young teenage daughter supposedly being preggers or something to the tune of... they done fucked up already!
I don't expect you to like, or more specifically understand, what I write Bailey, seeing as your use of the English Language is limited to words such as chief-which incidentally, is spelled as I have spelled it here- (by the way, 1996 called, it would like it's far-too-childish-to-ever-be-derogatory term back please)
The biggest irony was that the only person to label my thoughts as witty, was you.
OBAMA 08! Its just a shame that I dont live in the states- I wanna vote, and be apart of this history! He has got to win, he has a strong team, loads of celebs backing him... his "Yes we can" speech was amazing, and the track by Will.I.Am.. has anyone heard it? Its siiiiiiick.. btw, can anyone tell me what speech They are all talking about in the video; I'd like to hear it, Seriosuly tho, its a bummer we dont live in the states!
He HAS to win, do you hear me?! HAS TO! I voted democratic 4 yrs ago when that dummy called bush was re-elected another 4 terms. Which was bullcrap to begin with, but we wont get on the ballot stuffing...
ideally you'd like it to only be 2 parties, so that the votes arent heavily split. democrat and republican are the 2 main parties, but you do have independants and such. there was this whole issue with hillary clinton supporters who vowed to vote republican if she wasnt the democratic presidential nominee. then mccain pulls some overwhelmed soccer mom from alaska (of all places) out his azz to try to appeal to those former hillary supporters. sarah palin and hillary clinton do not a likeness make. what a slap in the face to hillary devotees. palin, who supported abstinence-only sex education, and cant even get her 17 yr old to keep her legs closed. go figure. and i hear tell that baby brother of hers mite be her own illigimate child...discuss amongst urselves.
if this doesnt give Obama/Biden the win, i dunno what will.
