Tees, Jeans + Hi-Tops

Seeing these pics today reminded me that, when done correctly, this ensemble is surely about as sexy as it gets?

I've been in heels far too much this summer. Time to dig out the Dunks.

YEAH...PHOEBE IS BACK! THE REAL ONE!!!

chuck them heels in the furnace and get dunked up!

Phoebe said...

Oooh dunno about the furnace Josephine!! Some of those heels are real beauties! But I'll certainly be pulling out some of the kicks that currently gathering dust at the bottom of my wardrobe.

Yay for being able to walk! Yay for not being ten feet tall! Yay for looking like Cassie! (yeah right)

i for one concur.

I love a heel as much as the next fashionista but this look kills it, when executed with the necessary panache.

Besides, if you rock this look well, you get to feel the full benefit of your 4inches when the occassion calls for it.

Phoebe, I salute you.

will be interested to hear the opinion of the male readers on this one!

I gave up heels in December and never looked back. Sometimes I still almost buy a pair, forgetting. But my body takes enough pounding from running, heels just seem like overkill for me.

I'm with elijah on that statement.

yes very hard not to do.

Funny I've been trying to stop doing this look. And yes all my kicks are gathering dust

I've been doing the skinny jean plimsole tank top for my daily run around

good to see Clav is back with the smut talk...

At 5'4" I gotta say I'm all about flat shoes and trainers on women - help a short guy out!!

Phoebe said...

@ Shenanigan

Yeah I made a conscious effort to stop doing it too. My winter uniform this year was basically jeans, an American Apparel hoodie, a leather bomber, hi-tops and sunglasses on bright days. Then one day I looked in the mirror and realised I had transformed into Kanye West. That's when I knew it had to stop.

But in this warmer weather, you can wear the look with a little vest or tee and thus the risk of looking incredibly butch/like a style-conscious rapper is somewhat diminished. Phew.

LOL

yeah the kanye look is one to be questioned on a female or worse you and a guy are out and you almost wearing the same get -up

What is happening! AGHHHH

Time to bring out the Lanvin and wear them out to Tesco, let's really bring sexy back!

Josey Rebelle said...

hey, what's wrong with girls and guys rocking the same look? not all of us are consciously trying to look 'sexy', if you wanna dress like kanye west, do it. it will only make you look 'butch' if the person looking at you is ignorant enough to think that way. wear what makes you feel happy =)

Phoebe said...

There's absolutely nothing wrong with boys and girls rocking the same clothes. In fact, women in men's clothes is probably one of the sexiest looks there is (hence the point of the post!) And there are definitely girls out there who can do a head-to-toe 'Kanye' outfit and look hot as hell.

Personally, I do like to have one 'feminine' aspect to my outfit- nice bag/nails/earrings/whatever- but that's not to say I think girls who don't look butch by default!

I dunno. Maybe all this is just a complex rooted in my childhood, when my father would refer to me as a 'builder in a dress' and my Mum would frequently tell me I had 'footballer's legs, just like your Dad!'. Charming people, my parents.

Josey Rebelle said...

oi, post that modelling picture of your dad on the blog! haha x

Josey Rebelle said...

sorry, i got all excited thinking about your dad that i forgot to say that MY point was that t-shirts, jeans and trainers aren't men's clothes. there's nothing about any of those items that is solely the preserve of men.

i would also question why women have to look hot or sexy in what they wear, whether its kicks or 6-inch heels.

then i would go back to thinking about your dad.

That picture is NOT going on the blog Josephine! However, should you require it for your own, erm, purposes I'd be happy to email it you.

Oh no, shit, wait- Did I just become my father's pimp?

if you are going to send out that email, i guess it wouldn't hurt to cc me in....
