Project from my graduate portfolio: Ice Jewellery that represents the beauty and preciousness of water. By holding the Ice Jewel close to the body it depicts our intimate connection with water, presenting it as a valuable entity and portrays it's fragile nature. We tend to believe there is an infinite supply of water but the truth is we are running out.
The idea was that this Jewel would be worn by a respected figure within society ie. whilst walking down the red carpet to make a statement about water. The ice Jewel acts as a catalyst and reacts with the reversible coloration ink (a transparent ink that turns red once it comes into contact with water) printed on the dress to reveal the message:
'WATER WILL BE MORE IMPORTANT THAN OIL THIS CENTURY'
Before you ask - It is real ice!
