During a morning of planning potential locations to hide out in during the beautiful English summer we are enjoying, The Amari Nova suites in Thailand came to my attention. They without doubt have one of the illest series of hotel bars i have ever seen, from the supper club with its sunken bar to the ice bar kept at –5 degrees all year round, with the bar, glasses and furniture made of crystal clear ice. Is this novelty at its extreme? would this spot lose all potential of fun after 5 minutes of being cold?Sink or Swim?

as someone who is addicted to eating ice i'd have to say that I'd be in heaven at the ice bar. It looks rather cool.

as someone mourning the lack of summer in the U of K, it seems a massive waste to trek all the way to tropical thailand only to lock yourself in a room made of ice and render yourself possibly impotent by then sitting on the stuff.
could see myself sipping a sherry in the sunken bar though.
they have one of these on Ko Samui too...& when it is 30degrees outside, & you go in there...it is very strange, u see everyone is wearing the minimum because of the heat, but in there they are all in coats...very strange...I walked in...looked at the coat, then all the people...laughed & walked out into the beautiful summer night...we remember summer nights right ?
