Is it ok to like Solange Knowles...?
I have to admit the few tracks that i've heard from her up coming album Sol-Angel and the Hadley Street Dreams, have been, surprisingly impressive.
The latest track to catch some attention is a co-write with Cee-Lo entitled T.O.N.Y. The subtle message in TONY - The Other Night Why (did I do that?)... is one that 99.9% of us have felt before.... Lets not even lie.

Ive been wondering the same thing for a while now... everytime i see her she suprises me.

i really like her. It must be a pain in the ass being 'Beyonce's Sister'. I've seen her on-set a few times and she is- like the DC girls- a real professional and a nice girl. She aint bad at the singing either.

i have yet to see solange perform live, which i hope happens with this album. so far the songs ive heard r nice. has a nostalgic sound to them. the types of songs that were out even before her time. i like that old sound tho.
boy do i have some tonys. been there, done that, aint goin there again.
so I have made my mind up.
Can any of you imagine Beyonce EVER doing this....

at this current moment in time, I prefer Solange. Bey's too prim n proper-she needs to fuck up a lil bit.

I think its a shame people will always compare her to her sister as shes a remarkable talent in her own right.

i salute Beyonce's achievements, but Solange seems a bit more 'real' to me. Real in the respect of her image and substance. Till the marketing giants get hold of her anyway.

Do y'all think Solange's "realness" is, indeed sincerity, or is it just part of PR. If you have someone associated with you (relative, someone from a past project, etc.) break before you, you need to take a different approach if you want to be noticed at all. Otherwise people will think that you are simply a clone. Kinda the same thing Ashlee Simpson did. (Although Beyonce and Solange can actually sing...)
I like Solange a lot...I think the way she's marketing herself is pretty clever and the girl can clearly sing.
But I disagree that Beyonce wouldn't have reacted to that on-stage heckler in the exact same way. Anyone remember when she dropped down about 29 steps at a concert last year and literally DID NOT MISS A BEAT?!!! That kinda of composure clearly runs in the blood.

i dont think she would be succesful if it were'nt for the fact shes beyonces younger sister
her family is firmly stuck into the music industry as well so shes got all the right connections
although beyonces kinda annoyin now
