One of my close friends was raging about how in a Rhianna fashion they have taken all the West Indian feel out of her styling and music. For me her & Akon have made a decision to be pop and good luck to them!

I actually like what Akon had to say in this video but his music makes me want to ralph.
Tami is adorable. I don't mind that she's pop, but I do mind that the only singers being majorly endorsed from the islands (and here's not much better) are light skinned.
Before anyone can get it twisted, let me just reiterate. Kudos to Tami, she's a moderatedly talented cutie doing her thing. I ain't mad. I'm just pointing out the role of colorism in the industry, islands, and global societies at large.
