It's like everything Obama has strived for in the past 21 months to combat black male stereotypes has been washed out in 6 minutes. Fuckin' hilarious though.
Fucking embarrassment. If you're a thick verbally dyslexic young man, don't go on Newsnight and let the whole country know that! This is what I meant when I said I wish people would take Obama's inspiration to LEARN how the system works and how to make it work for you, as opposed to portray yourself as a 21st Century Minstrel cooned up for the BBC. I like Diz as an MC, but definitely NOT as an MP!
wow, ive never seen someone struggle to articulate themselves like that before... the worst things is, what he was trying to say was actually true, and relevant, shame his diction let down...
Back to square one......
and to answer illsun's question, i dont think paxman took the piss, he asked dizzy a genuine question.
watching it again i take it back he was trying to make a valid point.
and paxman was taking the piss a little "mr rascal" lol how's he gonna ask him if he thinks hes british? silly questions get silly answers. paxman looked dumbfounded.
Yes he should have done it...! he is known as an entertainer NOT a serious policial commentator. So his appreance should not be judged as so..
I think it says alot about how sucessful he is that he was asked to go on there in the first place.. Don't forget Dizzee made (obviously less magnificent) history in this country this year too.
Dizzee made some good intelligent points all with a smile on his face.
Paxman always takes the piss...so nothing new there.
I found it quite funny... however i dont agree that he is a bad choice...i mean, yeah he wasnt involved witht he elections as such...but hes still a role model...
some of you take life to seriously. who cares? just cus one dude made a fool of himself don't mean the rest of us have to feel embarrased. stop getting hung up
Cringe, cringe and more cringe. I actually had to lower the volume so it was only just audible in the hope that it would make it less painful to listen to.
Get off his back. The fact he is being asked is positive. He may not have been as elequent as you critics would have liked. Isn't that the point? How often is anyone under the age of 45 asked thier opinion on politics anywhere let alone on Newsnight, let alone a grimer form the streets of London? Encourage - don't judge.
that was a bit ali G (in a bad way) and he took it a bit far with the hip hop thing, but all a great and valid gesture and cant think of anyone more qualified to speak as a young black man for london.
